Greensboro Day School issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.

The meet had swimmers representing eight schools, including GDS, Caldwell Academy, Westchester Country Day School, High Point Christian Academy, Calvary Day School, Forsyth Country Day School, Covenant, and Cornerstone.

Coach Chrissy Olson ’85 reported that every GDS swimmer in the meet had at least one personal best for the season. The Bengals also captured four individual first place finishes and two relay gold medals.

Sophomore Reece Ramseur finished first in two events (50-Yard Free and 100-Yard Butterfly) while sophomore Madison Jones won gold in the 100-Yard Freestyle for the girls. On the boys side, senior Sterling Sharpe placed first in the 500-Yard Freestyle.

The 200-Yard Medley Relay team Bebe Greene ’23, Kai Lewis ’23, Reece Ramseur ’25, and Sara Whitener ’25 placed first, and the boys 400-Yard Freestyle Relay team of Sterling Sharpe ’23, Kai Carlson ’24, Andrew Dahlstedt ’24, and Peyton Splawski ’25 put a nice finishing touch on the meet by placing first in the final event of the evening.

The Aquacats are back in action at Salem Academy on January 24. Go Bengals!
